For my second football game I shot the Heights vs Ellison game. Before the game even started it was already a high pressured game because this was Ellison's homecoming. The sunset that night was beautiful, I was able to mess around with it a little during pregame while the Crimson Belles were lined up waiting for the players.

The reason why I mostly shot the Belles during pregames was because the Emeralds were in the shade and I could not get any good lighting while shooting them, the Belles were lucky that they had the sun on them during golden hour. Because I was shooting the sun my ISO was low around 400 and my shutter speed was 1/320.

Then the players got ready to run out, I went over to Ellison's side to shoot, and because they were in the shade I moved my ISO to 1000 and was at f/4.

Then the game started. I knew it was going to be an exciting game, but I didn't know that it was going to start the very first play. Heights did a trick play and fumbled the ball that Ellison recovered and scored. I was walking up and down the whole night. Adjusting my ISO as it got darker and my shutter speed never went below 1/320. I kept checking my pictures as I shot because I knew from my first game that a lot of my pictures turned out blurry and not if focus, so I was very aware to make sure to focus my camera as I shot.

The game was full of action from both sides.

I would shoot, look at my pictures adjust the ISO the shoot again. I was using a 70mm lenn and shooting the whole time. Now it was halftime.

Heights performed first because they were the visiting team, and I shot their whole performance. I think for my next time I'll only spend a certain amount of time shooting each team's halftime because after Heights performance I was exhausted.

I didn't really have any energy left to shoot Ellison's performance so I only stayed for a couple minutes and shot. But I did get the Emerald's performance.

After I walked over to Heights side and sat down and got some water. Now the players were getting ready to run out so I decided that since I shot Ellison at the beginning I would shot Heights now. The second half of the game was even more intense, and the players weren't the only ones who wanted to win. Emotions were high and everyone wanted to win.

And the players gave it their all.

With twenty seconds left in the game and Ellison was winning 21-14, Heights scored and tied the game. Both teams went to their side while the refs talked and the emotion was there.

Player were praying and giving All Glory to God. Heights had the ball first and scored, and all Ellison had to do was score to keep playing. Heights made them fumble the ball and they recovered it. Heights beat Ellison.

And that was the best game I shot the whole year. The rest of my pictures are here: https://pixieset.com/collection/22436126/
